The New Manifestos in Art

The New Manifestos in Art

Have you been wondering if artists still write manifestos? This article is a good place to start. There are indeed new manifestos floating around today.
Dada, Fluxus, Futurism, Surrealism and Suprematism belong to the past!
Today, we have got artists writing about Dispersion, Disappearing, Language, Discourse and Representation and Image-Object as directions in art.

Artistic concepts have become more complex than ever before. This article is extremely thought-provoking and it will be interesting to follow-up on all developments now and in the future.

  1. Yes they do! I just wrote a review of a whole exhibition (in Bristol, UK) centred around a single manifesto. Its an interesting way to create art – I can’t decide if its too restrictive, or giving necessary structure to creativity?
